300 years of curiosity
Hidden knowledge from the Cabinet of Artefacts and Natural Curiosities

Cabinets of curiosities were the museums of the early modern era. They depicted the macrocosm of the world in the microcosm of a room. In the cabinets of curiosities, visitors from the 16th to 18th centuries were supposed to and wanted to wonder: about fascinating objects, about scientific orders, about God's creation. Amazement and fascination aroused curiosity. Curiosity, in turn, was and is the driving force behind acquiring knowledge, asking questions and opening up new horizons.
